ASERC sponsored vet course at the Peradeniya University, Sri Lanka
Mr. Pramuditha Dewasurendra is working as one of six vets for the Sri Lankan Wildlife Department and responsible for the eastern region of Sri Lanka. His main fields of duties are wild animal medicine, postmortems and providing postmortem findings to court but also collecting data regarding endangered species, monitoring and relocating aggressive animals such as elephants and leopards to protected areas away from human contact. Beneath that Mr. Dewasurendra is very experienced in all elephant topics.
The course at the prestigious Peradeniya University in Sri Lanka has a length of one and a half year and is very useful for his field work as a wildlife vet. The main topics of the course are geology, bio diversity, environmental pollution and bio statistics.
